Ethernet BRAINK hardware

Connect the module. Discover the path. Assign the job.

Owner-designed modular architecture; hardware qualification pending

Purpose

BRAINK’s modular Ethernet hardware design gives each functional square its own connector resources. A switch can live on one square, a sensor on another and a compatible actuator on a third, with Network ToT defining their relationships and Memory ToT retaining what each port actually observed.

How it works

The fixed side is CAT6/Ethernet. The field side consists of allocated connector squares backed by specific electrical driver and sensing capabilities.

Network ToT defines the relationship, timing and requested port behavior. Memory ToT retains the measured voltage/current response, prior state and resulting observations.

The intended discovery workflow uses a bounded diagnostic pulse and sampled voltage/current over time to derive resistance and a path signature. That signature is compared with supported device profiles before a role is assigned.

Sibling modules separate input collection from output delivery: a switch-only square can supply an input to a compatible lamp, coil-load or small-motor module elsewhere in the local network.

A practical workflow

Choose a module whose documented port limits support the intended equipment.

Connect the equipment with the port in its defined discovery state and run the permitted diagnostic measurement.

Review the measured path signature and proposed supported-device profile; unresolved or faulty paths remain unassigned.

Use Network ToT to relate an input port to an output or sensing task, then inspect the physical readback retained in Memory ToT.

Restart or reconnect and reverify the device/profile relationship before restoring its role.
