1. ABSTRACT

This extension preserves the author-accepted long-form expression (-3)^(+1) + (-14)^(+1) = (-17)^(+1). In this research notation, the (+1) groups signify lower-level unification and relational power over their respective predecessors. They are not free-standing multiplication factors and must not be silently converted to conventional exponentiation. The investigation concerns observer-selected representations, relational completeness, potential (-1) assignments, and the distinction between a model's observed relations and the relations that may exist beyond its observation.

2. NOTATION AND PARSING STANDARD

Accepted display:

(-3)^(+1) + (-14)^(+1) = (-17)^(+1)

Each parenthesized predecessor retains identity. Each parenthesized superscript is an attached relational group. The intervening + joins the two predecessor-power constructions. No bracketed group may be reassigned an unexpressed multiplication relation. Do not cancel the superscripts, reduce to -3-14=-17, or substitute a (+1) multiplier. This is a notation-preservation rule, not a proof of conventional exponentiation laws.

3. LOWER-LEVEL UNIFICATION

The expression presents two negative predecessor groups at relational power (+1), and an output group also marked (+1). The unit sign is explicit rather than suppressed. The author proposes that each relational unit has a possible positive or negative orientation; a represented (+1) state must not be mistaken for proof that (-1) is impossible. Potentiality and actuality are separate categories.

4. OBSERVER AND RECURSIVE KNOWLEDGE

An observer selects a representation and has finite access to relations. The absence of a relation in that representation does not imply the relation is nonexistent. Formal principle: Not observed does not imply nonexistent. The principle applies recursively to the observer's assumptions and to any claimed completeness of a model. It does not imply that every conceivable relation is true.

5. LONG-FORM PRIORITY

The canonical research record retains predecessor, relational superscript, operation, reference and observation context. A numerical evaluation, when one is eventually defined, is a projection of that structure and not a substitute for it. Any projection must declare the information it preserves and discards. Equality of projected numerical results is insufficient by itself to establish equality of relational states.

6. RELATIONAL POTENTIALS

For two predecessors, the research space may include (+1,+1), (+1,-1), (-1,+1), and (-1,-1) assignments. These are candidate configurations, not asserted equalities or proven reachable states. No ordinary power rule is imported to compute their outputs. A future formal semantics must define the operation, admissibility constraints and observational distinctions before numerical evaluation.

7. COMPUTER SCIENCE CORRESPONDENCE

A typed abstract syntax tree could retain predecessor identity and relational-power nodes separately. A projection function could return a conventional numeric result only when explicitly authorized and semantically defined. A verifier could compare preserved structural information, provenance and observer assumptions before approving equivalence. These are proposed implementation correspondences, not claims of a deployed verified engine.

8. FORMAL PROOF OBLIGATIONS

Define a grammar for predecessor groups, relational-power groups and inter-group operations. Define evaluation rules and whether (+1)/(-1) are orientations, operators or values within the new algebra. Establish closure, associativity or their failure under declared operations. Specify whether observer change alters a value, a representation or an admissibility condition. Construct counterexamples and independent tests. Compare expressive power with typed ASTs, provenance systems, epistemic logic and conventional algebra without presuming novelty.

9. PUBLICATION CLAIM CLASSIFICATION

Author-established notation: accepted and preserved.

Logical distinction: absence of observation is not proof of nonexistence.

Proposed algebraic semantics: under formalisation.

Physical/quantum consequences: not established by this document.

Novel computational advantage: requires reproducible benchmark and external comparison.

This classification is not a reduction of the research; it preserves the difference between the author's propositions, logical deductions and separately demonstrable claims.
