Abstract
BRAINK Core Runtime is the independent S01 research sector for governed transitions, recovery and scheduling. This revision turns the original baseline into a testable engineering protocol: it separates admission, execution, observation and durable evidence; defines recovery outcomes; and specifies a comparative replay experiment. The inspected v74 report supplies bounded local test observations. It does not supply an independently reproduced S01 comparison or a production deployment qualification. The contribution of this revision is the proposed contract and evaluation design, not a claim of new runtime performance.
The immediate decision is whether the proposed contract faithfully represents the intended runtime. Once that mapping is reviewed, implementation-specific fixtures and execution receipts can test it. Original sector identity, architecture ownership and source-reported results remain intact.
Scope and definitions
ZCG is foundational across the Keddeh systems described here. Under the author's definition, 1 is the only addressable coordinate written as a single digit. It is one shared reference singularity from which all observables are scaled. Every axis refers to that same 1; axes do not instantiate separate ones or independent origins. This definition does not identify the reference with zero-point energy.
Axis components, measured values, state-role labels, ordinal ranks, array indices and storage locations must be typed separately from ZCG coordinate addresses. A host index or a repeated numeral in a display does not create another ZCG origin. Composite addresses must follow the native ZCG address grammar; an editorial tuple, per-axis baseline or scalar relabelling cannot substitute for that grammar.
S01 belongs to Core Intelligence. Its relationships with S02 KEX Algebra and Typed State, S08 Governance, S09 Security, S11 Service Runtime, S12 Storage and S13 Mesh do not merge their identities or proof obligations. BRAINK remains the persistent execution substrate; KEX remains the typed evolution operator; IL-LLM retains recurrent traversal and semantic processing. The model below describes an S01 assessment boundary rather than redefining those native terms.
An intent is a requested transition identified independently of an execution attempt. An authority decision records the principal, permitted action, target, policy version and validity interval. An effect is a change in the addressed system. An observation is a measured readback from that system. A receipt binds the intent, attempt, source version, precondition, effect observation and outcome. A checkpoint is a versioned recovery object with an explicitly stated durability domain.
Logical state, the UI projection, the event ledger and the external target state are separate objects. A source digest identifies bytes; it does not establish semantic correctness. Recovery time uses a monotonic elapsed-time clock and a named start/end boundary. Durable means surviving the specified failure in the specified storage environment; it does not mean indefinite retention.
This protocol concerns governed runtime operations. Public landing pages, educational documents and learning demonstrations remain accessible without login or a ChatGPT identity. Authority checks for owner operations do not create a visitor-authentication prerequisite.
This protocol begins with a local deterministic workload and an inert effect adapter. Multi-machine coordination, public ingress, DNS/TLS authority, cryptographic qualification and safety-critical equipment remain separate studies. No hardware actuation is proposed here.
Architecture and mechanism
Proposed assessment contract C1. Represent an attempt as a record with intent ID, attempt ID, source identity, typed input, expected-state version, authority reference, execution phase, observation reference and receipt reference. These are review fields to map onto actual source objects; they are not claimed to be existing source field names.
The admission predicate requires a resolvable source, well-typed input, valid authority and a matching expected-state version. A rejected candidate produces a reasoned rejection record and no target mutation. An admitted attempt may execute only while its required authority remains valid at the final enforceable actuation boundary. Revocation semantics for work already in flight must be stated explicitly.
Proposed phase sequence: RECEIVED, ADMITTED, EXECUTING, OBSERVED, RECORDED. REJECTED ends a failed admission. UNCERTAIN records an attempt for which the target may have changed but a conclusive observation is missing. DEGRADED records an unavailable durability facility. A display of RECORDED is permitted only after both the required observation and the required durable receipt have succeeded.
The source v74 sequence remains INTENT, SOURCE_IDENTITY, OBJECTIVE_BINDING, MATERIAL_BOUNDARY, AUTHORITY_GATE, CURRENT_STATE_READBACK, BILATERAL_GROWTH, EXECUTION_MODE, EXECUTION, OBSERVATION, FALSIFICATION, READBACK, RECONCILIATION, EVIDENCE_PACKET, LEDGER_DELTA, NEXT_ROUTE. C1 groups these stages for testing; the implementation mapping must preserve all native stages and identify their concrete source locations.
Recovery rule C2. After interruption, first inspect the target using the retained intent identity. If the effect is established, reconcile and append a receipt without repeating the effect. If absence is established, a fresh attempt still requires current authority and a valid precondition. If neither is established, retain UNCERTAIN and prohibit blind mutation retries. A single local log cannot prove exactly-once effects in an external service that lacks an adequate idempotency or reconciliation contract. [R5]
Replay rule C3. For a frozen version of the deterministic transition function, an initial state and ordered admitted event sequence define the reconstructed logical state. Replay is a read-only reconstruction unless an explicitly separate actuation mode is authorized. Freeze serialization, schema version and treatment of timestamps/randomness before comparing states; never use a UI label as the equality oracle. Event-sourcing provides a comparison pattern, not an equivalence claim about BRAINK. [R4]
Proposed invariants: I1 rejected admission yields no target effect; I2 every success has a matching observation and receipt; I3 replay preserves the defined logical state; I4 uncertainty remains visible until reconciliation; I5 unavailable durable storage cannot produce a durable qualification; I6 referenced ledger entries remain retrievable throughout the tested horizon. Each invariant needs its own counterexample fixture and result.
Method and evaluation
Native algebra conformance requirement supplied by Aboudy Keddeh: zero is excluded from native calculations, including intermediate native values, and must never substitute for a constituent. The participating identities, relations and transformation history must be retained. A balanced or cancelling projection cannot authorize erasure or replacement of those constituents.
Each native operator must be traced to the author's actual definition, with its admitted domain, outputs, intermediate representation and failure behaviour stated explicitly. Conventional arithmetic, scalar cancellation, zero-based host indices and comparison plots are separately identified compatibility or comparison mechanisms; their tests do not establish conformance of the native algebra. This draft does not invent replacement operators, a transported ring or a coordinate encoder.
Comparison premise audit: before accepting a graph or test as evidence for ZCG or native algebra, identify the actual source model and verify the shared reference 1, native address grammar, constituent retention, permitted intermediate values and projection mapping. A graph based on independent axis origins, or a test whose oracle silently replaces constituents with zero, evaluates a different model. Its result must be scoped to that model and cannot be promoted as ZCG conformance. Test performance only after the compared tasks, required outputs and retained context are matched.
Study question. Under matched local workloads and injected failures, does the BRAINK candidate preserve I1–I6 and produce at least as complete an evidence trail as a separately implemented event-sourced reference? Correctness is primary. Performance is exploratory until the workloads and meaningful thresholds are fixed.
Freeze before execution: candidate bytes and digest, baseline commit, adapter contract, schema and canonicalization rules, initial state, input traces, failure schedule, random seeds, operating system, CPU/memory, browser or interpreter version, storage policy and test commands. Record who prepared each implementation and who evaluated the outputs. A comparison built from the same unchecked transition function is not an independent oracle.
Proposed initial workload matrix: a pure typed-state update; a rejected stale-version update; a duplicate intent with identical content; a reused intent ID with conflicting content; checkpoint restore; and a synthetic adapter whose effect succeeds before its acknowledgement is lost. Test 10, 100 and 1,000 admitted operations per trace. For each workload, size and failure case, retain 30 independently seeded traces. These are proposed protocol settings, not observed sample counts or a statistical power justification.
Inject faults before admission, immediately before actuation, after effect but before observation, after observation but before receipt persistence, and during checkpoint write/restore. Add storage denial, invalid stored JSON, corrupted checkpoint, authority revocation, duplicate delivery and interrupted restart. The harness must prove each injection occurred and preserve the corresponding trace rather than infer it from a success flag.
Correctness acceptance is zero observed violations of I1–I6 in the frozen corpus, with every run accounted for. For an adapter lacking conclusive reconciliation, the correct result can be UNCERTAIN rather than forced success. Record failures and exclusions; do not remove a failing seed from the denominator. Zero observed failures does not establish impossibility outside this corpus.
Report replay divergence as mismatched eligible replays divided by eligible replays; duplicate-effect rate as extra target effects divided by admitted unique intents; and evidence completeness as fully linked required receipt records divided by required receipt records. Count rejected and uncertain attempts separately. Recovery latency runs from the declared restart/recovery trigger to reconciled state or the stated timeout; include timeouts as censored/failed outcomes.
For latency, report sample count, median, tail percentile, maximum and the sampling/interval method. Keep warmup policy and failed runs visible. Repeat timing runs without fault injection to avoid mixing recovery and steady-state costs. Byte growth is a separate measurement: 34,505 added bytes divided by 5,103,217 parent bytes is approximately 0.676%; it is not runtime latency overhead.
Execution package. Retain the original sources, version manifest, test harness, commands, expected outputs, actual outputs, full failure traces, machine context, measurement definitions and reviewer decision. A release candidate requires implementation mapping, completed tests and an authorized review; this document itself supplies none of those approvals.
Results and evidence
E1 source standing. The v74 registry reports S01 as PACKAGE BUILT, COMPILE/REPLAY PASS, CORRECTION ROUTE PASS and EVOLUTION PASS. This is inherited registry status, not a new result from the experiment above.
E2 source-reported local tests. The inspected v74 report records 250 byte-identical static copies, 300 deterministic fault/recovery cycles and 200 rehydrations. Its embedded summary records monotonic logical time, valid evidence references, first-event retention and a final ledger of 312 events. The reported rehydration median is 6.641 ms and maximum 13.022 ms in its VM harness. These numbers were read from the report, not re-executed in this review. [R2]
E3 source-reported negative paths. The report records corrupt stored JSON as STORAGE_INVALID_JSON, invalid checkpoints as CHECKPOINT_REJECTED, and denied browser storage as WRITE_FAILED with qualification refused. It reports local A-to-B stale-primary failover and explicit fault/recovery election. This supports a bounded report of controlled local tests; it does not establish multi-machine failover. [R2]
E4 evidence limits. The full external static and VM trace files linked relatively by the report were not retrieved in this review. Exact machine specifications, random seed schedule, raw timing samples and an independent S01 comparison are not established by the inspected report. No new implementation execution, physical experiment or external assessor result has been added.
E5 editorial finding. The original S01 baseline provides a useful scope and failure programme but leaves the state machine, input schema, measurement denominators and acceptance settings unspecified. C1–C3 and I1–I6 are proposed additions intended to make those omissions reviewable. They need source-conformance review before implementation.
Limitations and open questions
Source conformance is the first open obligation: map each proposed phase and invariant to named native objects and source ranges, then record any conflict without silently changing the architecture. The review must preserve the author's intended meaning of BRAINK, KEX and IL-LLM.
Atomicity across the target effect and receipt is unresolved for external adapters. Identify which targets offer transactional coupling, durable idempotency keys, queryable operation status or compensating actions. Test the ambiguous-outcome window for each; a general exactly-once claim is premature.
Storage and recovery guarantees are host-dependent. Determine the durability domain, quota/eviction behavior, checkpoint validation rules and supported restart mode using the chosen target environment. The existing local report cannot settle cross-host partition handling or production-browser behavior.
Authority revocation must specify the last cancellable point, treatment of already-completed effects and recovery permissions. Append-only evidence can itself contain private data; define access, minimization and retention before testing with real user records. Use synthetic records in the initial experiment.
The next research outputs are a source-mapped state machine, complete transition catalogue, frozen harness package and recovery runbook. Performance comparisons, security claims, physical guarantees and market outcomes remain independently scoped. A polished manuscript does not discharge those research obligations.

Revision history
Version 1.0, source modified 7 October 2026: canonical S01 baseline and initial evaluation programme. Original remains unchanged.
15 October 2026 — Editorial draft E1 preserves the developed v1.1 assessment and its complete native stage mapping. Clarified public learning access versus operation-specific authority. No runtime execution or approval is asserted. Source: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1blQwYUU_KsS1NuDXJISr_C9uZ72lBR38p_Jmw5b-9S8/edit?usp=drivesdk
Version 1.1 proposed, 14 October 2026: expanded definitions, proposed assessment/recovery/replay contract, six invariants, frozen-workload protocol, explicit reported-evidence register and source-conformance obligations. AI-assisted editorial development and internal review by OpenAI ChatGPT. Architecture and research direction remain attributed to Aboudy Keddeh. Owner approval and independent assessment are unrecorded. This proposed revision does not supersede v1.0 until accepted.
16 October 2026 — Editorial revision E2. Applied Aboudy Keddeh's explicit ZCG clarification: 1 is the sole single-digit addressable coordinate and is shared by all axes and observables. Removed any implication that each axis has its own one or that ZCG is based on zero-point energy. Native coordinate addressing, measurement projections and host indices are distinguished. This is an editorial correction; no new physical or runtime test is asserted.
